The tourist guides had been around Korčula long before the profession became legally regulated. The first guides were the most highly educated citizens of Korčula. During the visit of a famous writer Rebecca West to Korčula, her guide was the mayor himself Mr. Juraj Arneri which she referred to in her famous novel Black Lamb and Grey Falcon. In addition to the mayor, Korčula was presented to the tourists and visitors by professors, journalists, employees from the tourist sector, only to have the Korčula Tourists Guides Association founded in 2005 in conformity with the applicable law. The association provides its services in Croatian, English, French, German, Spanish, Slovenian and Japanese.

Besides the guided tours, our association is also focussed on sharing its knowledge of the town and the island. We organise short study visits in order to become familiarised with the neighbouring areas related to our town and our way of life.
